When you’re browsing either the online inventory or the physical lot at Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis, you’re likely to come across Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes vehicles. Also known as Mercedes-Benz CPO, these vehicles represent the best of the best pre-owned vehicles at our dealership.
But what exactly makes a vehicle Certified? Our dealers are happy to explain.
The Mercedes-Benz Certification Process
While most automakers have a CPO program, the one Mercedes-Benz uses is one of the most rigorous in the industry. Not just any pre-owned Mercedes-Benz car qualify to become Certified. Here is an overview of the strict eligibility requirements:
- Be less than six years old
- Have less than 75,000 miles
- Be serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommended schedule
- Include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report
In addition to the above requirements, the vehicle must pass a rigorous 165-point inspection. Performed by the dealer’s technicians, the inspection starts with the exterior, making sure that the structure and appearance are up to the automaker’s lofty standards. The inspection continues inside with a full review of the finishes, seat belts, flooring, and more. Finally, the inner components of the vehicle are evaluated. Our mechanics check components like electrical systems, engines, and transmissions to ensure that the performance is what it should be.
