An In-Depth Look at the Mercedes-Benz COMAND® Infotainment System

These days, whether you buy a luxury car like a Mercedes-Benz vehicle it’s likely to have some kind of touchscreen-based infotainment system. Of course, some of these systems are more feature-packed than others, and the Mercedes-Benz COMAND® infotainment is one of the best. We know that sometimes it can be overwhelming to navigate through all the options in an infotainment system, but this is made easier by the fact that the COMAND® system is so intuitive and easy to use. Here’s a quick guide to some of the things you can do with the COMAND® system, which can be found on most new Mercedes models near Severna Park, MD.

The functionality of the COMAND® system begins with making routine driving tasks simpler. First of all, the system is paired to a garage door opener that is connected to your garage door. On the dashboard of the vehicle is the large 8-inch color touchscreen display screen that is the heart of the COMAND® interface. It looks like a high-quality tablet and features a 960x540 pixel screen. You can control this screen with a rotary knob controller that rotates 360 degrees. Hovering over the controller is a touchpad that can be used to bring up the navigation viewing function. You can slide the cursor around to any destination and then pinch and zoom in and out of a destination like you would with a smartphone.

If you have a smartphone, the COMAND® interface can connect with it via Bluetooth or the Lighting connector on the iPhone. When you pair your phone to the system, COMAND® will display your music library on its easy-to-use touchscreen.
